For most of my life, people have tried to put me in a box. You’re a Christian so you can’t watch Harry Potter. Actually I do-and I enjoy them. I do know the difference between fantasy and reality. You like Star Trek so youcan’t like Star Wars….who said? You say you are politically conservative, so you can’t be concerned for the homeless and the poor… well I am – SO THERE! You believe in free enterprise so you must support large corporations… No I don’t. They just want to limit competition and get government subsidies (welfare for corporations). They do not support real free enterprise. You are an evangelical Christian therefore you must be opposed to abortion – yes. You must support Focus on the Family or the American Family Association – No. They try to win a culture war and get Christians off the main thing – Jesus Christ and his Kingdom.
You are a conservative so you support Rush Limbaugh. Wrong, he’s mean. But I did like William F. Buckley because he was civil and could be friendly with those he disagreed with.
I am a person with nuances and complexities. I will not be defined by the labels that people try to put on me. Sometimes I am predictable and other times I will suprise you.
So this blog will explore the things I am interested in at the moment. It may be Gospel Poverty, helping the poor, It may be politics – heads up (So far I don’t have many good things to say about Barak’s policies), It may be about alternative forms of energy like solar and wind. It may be about Star Trek…or Star Wars.
